Match analyzer
A separate product at analyzer.bgspace.games: it evaluates a position, explains cube decisions and goes through a played match move by move.
Rules in short
- Position evaluation: every move ranked, with the equity difference
- Win, gammon and backgammon probabilities for both sides
- Cube card: ND / DT / DP, the cost of the error and the market window
- Rollouts: the position is played out thousands of times, with confidence intervals
- Heat map: what each of the 36 rolls does in this position
- Match analysis: PR for checkers and cube, luck, equity graph
- Accepts .mat (GNUbg/XG), .sgf, XGID and GNUbg Position ID
Cube decisions on their own card
Double, take or pass — with the numbers, the name of the correct action, the cost of the error and the market window: from which winning percentage doubling pays off and from which the opponent must already pass.
Our own engine, not a wrapper
Positions are evaluated by our own neural network, trained on our own corpus of games. GNUbg is used only as a test reference during development and is not part of the product. Long backgammon has a separate mode with its own engine: no world-class program plays it, so there was nothing to compare against and the network had to be trained from scratch.
From the platform you reach the analyzer without a second password: after a match there is an “Analyse” button, and the analysis opens for both players of that game.
