Khachapuri
A variant where the score is counted in checkers, not points: however many checkers the opponent failed to bear off is what gets written down. The most played variant on the platform.
Rules in short
- Score in checkers: you record the difference in checkers left
- The match runs until someone reaches the agreed difference
- The price of a game depends on how convincing the win was
- The doubling cube works, but multiplies checkers
Why people love it
In khachapuri there is no such thing as “scraped a win for one point”: winning by one checker and winning by ten are different results. The endgame stays tense even when the winner is already obvious.
10,001 games of khachapuri have been played on BG Space — more than any other variant.
