Short backgammon
Do you play short backgammon? There is an opponent here at any hour. After the match the analyzer shows your mistakes and the best moves.
Rules in short
- Each player has 15 checkers and bears them all off to win
- A lone checker gets hit, goes to the bar and re-enters
- The doubling cube raises the stake, the opponent takes or passes
- A gammon costs double: the opponent bore off nothing
- A backgammon costs triple: the opponent also has a checker in the winner’s home or on the bar
Why beginners start here
Short backgammon has a strong body of theory: opening tables, cube decisions, PR as a measure of play. Our analyzer is most precise here. After a match it names the move that cost you the most, with the number next to it.
The longer the match, the less a single roll decides.
